Photons excited into ground state modes at finite temperature displaypartitioning among photon phases, lifetimes and distances travelled sincecreation. These distributions set the distance from an interface a createdphoton has some chance of emission. Excited photons at each frequency have aphase velocity set by each mode propagation index which determines mode densityand internal energy contribution. They explain the many resonantspectral intensities seen in remote sensing. Each hybrid oscillator is aphotonic virtual bound state whose energy fluctuates between levels separatedby mode energy. Refraction induces solid angle changes and often anomalousrefraction while thermal recycling of internally reflected photons modifiesintensities and internal energy. Enhanced internal heat flux from phonon dragby photon density gradients under an external temperature gradient is alsopredicted.
