Supply chain management (SCM) plays a vital role in the global economy, asevidenced by recent COVID-19 supply chain challenges. Traditional SCM facessecurity and efficiency issues, but they can be addressed by leveraging digitaltwins (DTs) and blockchain technology. T he combination of blockchain and DTscan refine the concepts of both technologies and reform SCM to advance intoIndustry 4.0. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive literature review ofthe blockchain-based digital twin (DT) solutions to optimise the processes ofdata management, data storage, and data sharing in SCM. We also investigate thekey benefits of the integration of blockchain and DTs and examine theirpotential implementation in various SCM areas, including smart manufacturing,intelligent maintenance, and blockchain-based DT shop floor, warehouse, andlogistics. Finally, we put forward recommendations for future researchdirections.
