The first edition of the event As Astrocientistas: the Brazilian Meeting ofWomen and Girls in Astrophysics, Cosmology, and Gravitation, happened inFebruary 2021. It gathered great names of Brazilian science to pay homage toBrazilian female researchers and other female physicists with close ties to ourcommunity. This paper presents our motivation to organize this event, thechallenges we faced, and exposes the learning experience we gained from doingso. We will talk about the relevance of this event as we perceive it.
