As is common with the collection of astronomical data, signals are frequentlydominated by noise. However, when performing FTs of light curves, re-binningdata can improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at lower frequencies. Usingdata collected from the Kepler space telescope, we sequentially re-binned datathree times to investigate the SNR improvement of lower frequency (< 17microHz) variability in white dwarf KIC 8626021. We found that the SNR atapproximately 5.8 microHz greatly improved through this process, and wepostulate that this frequency is linked to the rotation of KIC 8626021.
