Semivisible jets are a characteristic signature of many confining darksectors and consist of jets of visible hadrons intermixed with invisible stableparticles. Since their initial proposal, considerable progress has been made indeveloping techniques for tagging anomalous jets. In this paper, we show thatthe ability to tag semivisible jets can be used to define new event-levelvariables which use generally ignored kinematic information and canconsiderably increase our ability to discover dark confining sectors. Inpractice, our best results are obtained by using the coefficients of thedecomposition of the missing transverse momentum in terms of the transversemomenta of the jets tagged as anomalous. A benchmark scenario is introduced andthe increase in significance due to these new variables is studied over some ofits parameter space.
