We study the invariance of velocity angles and flocking properties of theInertial Spin model introduced by Cavagna et al. [J. Stat. Phys., 158, (2015),601--627]. We present a novel approach, based on a second order nonlinearGronwall inequality for the velocity diameter, to identify invariant regionsand study the flocking behavior of the model. This is an approach inspired bythe work of Choi-Ha-Yun in the study of synchronization for kuramotooscillators with finite inertia [Physica D, 240, (2011), 32--44]. We givesufficient conditions in terms of the parameters of the model and the initialdata, so that invariant regions and asymptotic alignment of velocities ispossible for coupling interactions that satisfy general assumptions.
