Online auction has been very widespread in the recent years. Platformadministrators are working hard to refine their auction mechanisms that willgenerate high profits while maintaining a fair resource allocation. With theadvancement of computing technology and the bottleneck in theoreticalframeworks, researchers are shifting gears towards online auction designs usingdeep learning approaches. In this article, we summarized some common deeplearning infrastructures adopted in auction mechanism designs and showed howthese architectures are evolving. We also discussed how researchers aretackling with the constraints and concerns in the large and dynamic industrialsettings. Finally, we pointed out several currently unresolved issues forfuture directions.
