Ultrawideband radar is an attractive technology for a variety of applicationsincluding security systems. As such, it is essential to develop low-costsystems that produce clear target images. Electromagnetic inverse scatteringwith time-reversal imaging has been studied for a variety of applications. Thetime-reversal method, however, uses large-scale antenna arrays, making thesystem potentially more costly. In this study, we propose an ultrawidebandradar imaging algorithm, namely the stepped-frequency DORT algorithm, that usesmulti-path scattering for a single antenna. The proposed imaging method is anextension of the conventional DORT method, and uses a frequency-frequencymatrix that is suitable for a system with a single antenna. The performance ofthe proposed method is verified through numerical simulations.
