We discuss implications of the evolution of transverse momentum dependent(TMD) parton distributions on the structure of multi-jet states at highenergies. In particular we analyze the theoretical systematics associated withmulti-jet merging. We introduce a new merging methodology incorporating TMDs,illustrate its main features and present a comparison of our theoreticalresults with experimental measurements for Z-boson + jets production at theLarge Hadron Collider (LHC).
