A van der Waals coupled Weyl semimetal material NbIrTe4 is investigated bycombining scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy and first principlescalculations. We observe a sharp peak in the tunneling conductance near thezero bias energy, and its origin is ascribed to a van Hove singularityassociated with a Lifshitz transition of the topologically none trivial Fermiarc states. Furthermore, tunneling spectroscopy measurements show asurprisingly large signature of electron boson coupling, which presumablyrepresents anomalously enhanced electron phonon coupling through the enhancedcharge susceptibility. Our finding in van der Waals coupled material isparticularly invaluable due to applicable exfoliation technology for searchingexotic topological states by further manipulating near Fermi energy van Hovesingularity in nanometer scale flakes and their devices.
