We study the effective matrix model for for gauge fields and fermions on aquantum computer. We use the Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) using IBMQISKit for the effective matrix model for SU(2) and SU(3) including fermions inthe fundamental representation. For SU(2) we study the effects of finitetemperature and nonzero chemical potential. In all cases we find excellentagreement with the classical computation.
