The probability distribution of temperature of a blackbody can be determinedfrom its power spectrum. This technique is called blackbody radiationinversion. In the present paper blackbody radiation inversion is applied on thespectrum of the Sun. The probability distribution of temperature and the meantemperature of the Sun are calculated without assuming a homogenous temperatureand without using Stefan-Boltzmann law. Different properties of thisdistribution are characterized. This paper presents the very first mention andinvestigation of the distortions present within the Sun's spectrum.
