We present a new analytic BRDF for porous materials comprised of sphericalLambertian scatterers. The BRDF has a single parameter: the albedo of theLambertian particles. The resulting appearance exhibits strong back scatteringand saturation effects that height-field-based models such as Oren-Nayar cannotreproduce.
