The precise measurement of the pressure of the gas enclosed in the startingvolume of a static expansion system is important for achieving low measurementuncertainties. This work focuses on the valve closing process and the resultingpressure difference. The flow conservation law is used to set up a model and anexperimental procedure has been developed to investigate the pressure dropacross the moving valve plate. Various parameters are evaluated and comparedwith experimental data.
