In this paper, we develop an alternative approach to establish the $L^2$decay estimate for the linearized Landau equation in a bounded domain withspecular boundary condition. The proof is based on the methodology of proof bycontradiction motivated by [Guo, Comm. Pure Appl. Math., 55(9):1104-1135, 2002]and [Guo, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., 197(3):713-809, 2010].
