Industrial Internet of Things is a new milestone that will require newindustry paradigms and investments. In this context, cyber-physical systems areconsidered the bridge to the fourth revolution. Centralized approaches andobservance of real-time constraints are two important challenges that must beovercome for the advancement of Industry 4.0. To solve these problems, ablockchain-based vertical integration architecture of the process automationsystems is proposed in which it performs the control and monitoring ofindustrial processes. Proof of concept experiments reveal the feasibility andperformance of the proposal.
