When learning technologies are introduced in educational environments, it isassumed that the educational environment is culture neutral i.e, alleducational environments have the same challenges, problems and cultural norms.However, it can be observed that cultural factors can influence the successfulimplementation and use of learning technologies. In this study the aims were toexplore contextual challenges to implementing different educationaltechnologies and to explore the effects of culture. The results of this surveysuggest that Hofstede's cultural measures of uncertainty avoidance, powerdistance and Individualist/collectivist measures, and Duckworth's Grit measureof passion and perseverance have a strong impact on the culture of technologyuse in India.
