The NK model has been used widely to explore aspects of natural evolution andcomplex systems. This paper introduces a modified form of the NK model forexploring distributed control in complex systems such as organisations, socialnetworks, collective robotics, etc. Initial results show how varying the sizeand underlying functional structure of a given system affects the performanceof different distributed control structures and decision making, includingwithin dynamically formed structures and those with differing numbers ofcontrol nodes.
