In a recent work by Capozzi et al (arXiv:1908.06992), it is observed that theintroduction of non-standard neutrino-matter interactions considerably relaxesthe preference of T2K and NO$\nu$A for normal over inverted mass orderingobserved in the standard three-neutrino scenario. Motivated by this, in thisnote we update our previous global fit to investigate whether such result stillholds once the information of solar, atmospheric and reactor experiments istaken into account. We find that the non-standard parameters responsible forthe improvement of the inverted ordering fit to T2K and NO$\nu$A data are notcompatible with the other oscillation experiments, and that the preference forNO is restored.
