Scientists have used many different classification methods to solve theproblem of music classification. But the efficiency of each classification isdifferent. In this paper, we propose two compared methods on the task of musicstyle classification. More specifically, feature extraction for representingtimbral texture, rhythmic content and pitch content are proposed. Comparativeevaluations on performances of two classifiers were conducted for musicclassification with different styles. The result shows that XGB is bettersuited for small datasets than BPNN
