We consider certain degenerations of trigonal curves and hyperellipticcurves, which we call one step degeneration. We compute the limits ofcorresponding quasi-periodic solutions using the Sato Grassmannian. The mixingof solitons and quasi-periodic solutions is clearly visible in the obtainedsolutions.
