Despite on great success with artificial implant for human body, the modernimplants could not solve major health problems. The reason is an immunereaction of organism on artificial implant known as foreign body reaction. Wehave found a way to avoid or decrease the foreign body reaction. The surface ofartificial implant is modified with condensed aromatic structures containingfree radicals, which provide a covalent attachment of host proteins in nativeconformation. The total protein coverage prevents direct contact of immunecells with the implant surface and the immune cells are not activated. Asresult the immune respond of organism is not generated and the artificialimplant is not isolated from the tissue: no collagen capsule, low activity ofmacrophages, low cell proliferation, low inflammatory activity.
