Recently, a new emerging field about heavily-doped colloidal plasmonicnanocrystals (NCs) has attracted great attention due to their lower andexpediently adjustable free carrier densities, lower and tunable LSPR band inthe spectral range from NIR to MIR and higher optical nonlinearity. These newkinds of plasmonic materials will show huge potential and opportunities fornonlinear optical applications, such as ultrafast switching, nonlinear sensingand pulse laser generation. In this work, we demonstrate that high-qualitymode-locking and Q-switching pulses at 1560 nm can both be generated by usingcontrollable concentration of Cu3-xP NCs solution and fabricating evanescentlyinteracted saturable absorbers. Furthermore, the plasmonic NCs material hasgood reproduction for fabricating SA devices and promising potential forlarge-scale industrial production. Our results may attract great attention forfurther investigations of heavily-doped plasmonic NCs as next generation, cheapand solution-processed element for fascinating applications in optoelectronicdevices.
