In the study of CP violation within and beyond the Standard Model of particlephysics, pure hadronic B decays are the key players. Improving thedetermination of the CKM angle $\gamma$ is one of the important tasks in thisendeavour. Besides, the full description of pure hadronic decays due to theirstrong interaction dynamics remains one of the challenges. In this summary, wediscuss the recent results and progress on $\gamma$ determinations and directCP violation in pure hadronic B decays as presented at CKM 2018.
