The concept of quantum plasmonic excitations in plasmonic lattices, whichsimilarly to Frenkel excitons in molecular crystals propagate by hopping fromone nanoparticle to another, is introduced. A consistent quantum theory of suchplasmonic excitons, beginning with the quantization of localized surfaceplasmons in a metal nanoparticle and including the radiative relaxation in both1D and 2D lattices near a reflective substrate surface, is developed. Apossible room-temperature Bose-Einstein condensation in the quantum gas ofplasmonic excitons is also discussed.

Frenkel-like plasmonic excitons in plasmonic lattices: Energy spectrum, radiative relaxation, and Bose-Einstein condensation
