In this note, by using the Hasse-Teichm\"uller derivatives, we obtain twoexplicit expressions for the related numbers of higher order Appellpolynomials. One of them presents a determinant expression for the relatednumbers of higher order Appell polynomials, which involves several determinantexpressions of special numbers, such as the higher order generalizedhypergeometric Bernoulli and Cauchy numbers, thus recovers the classicaldeterminant expressions of Bernoulli and Cauchy numbers stated in an article byGlaisher in 1875.
