Ni-based superalloys have been the subject of enormous usage in scenarioswhere the loading is heavy and often occurs at elevated temperatures. Thestrengthening mechanisms that come into play within the metallic lattice havebeen studied extensively as micromechanical MMC models. These continuumformulations suffer from several limitations. The underlying mechanisms at theatomistic scale have not yet been well understood. The report attempts to modelthe interaction of moving dislocation with cuboidal precipitates and explainthe strengthening effect. The effect of particle size and inter-particledistance on the strength are evaluated. Several physically meaningful resultshave also been interpreted and shown.
