We present a model to generate power spectrum noise with intensityproportional to 1/f as a function of frequency f. The model arises from abroken-symmetry variable which corresponds to absolute pitch, wherefluctuations occur in an attempt to restore that symmetry, influenced byinteractions in the creation of musical melodies.
