This mini review aims to outline the main experimental and theoreticalresults related with the search for a new light vector boson proposed as asolution of the muon $g-2$ anomaly. Additionally, I consider a model withinfinite number of light vector bosons which can explain the anomaly, whilestill remaining consistent with current experimental bounds.
