The kinetic effects of electrons are important to long wavelengthmagnetohydrodynamic(MHD)instabilities and short wavelength drift-Alfvenicinstabilities responsible for turbulence transport in magnetized plasmas, sincethe non-adiabatic electron can interact with, modify and drive the lowfrequency instabilities. A novel conservative split weight scheme is proposedfor the electromagnetic simulation with drift kinetic electrons in tokamakplasmas, which shows great computational advantages that there is no numericalconstrain of electron skin depth on the perpendicular grid size withoutsacrificing any physics. Both kinetic Alfven wave and collision-less tearingmode are verified by using this model, which has already been implemented intothe gyrokinetic toroidal code(GTC). This model will be used for the microtearing mode and neoclassical tearing mode simulation based on the firstprinciple in the future.
