This report documents the implementation of several related 1D heat flowproblems in the verification package ExactPack. In particular, the planarsandwich class defined by Dawes et al., as well as the classesPlanarSandwichHot, PlanarSandwichHalf, and other generalizations of the planarsandwich problem, are defined and documented here. A rather general treatmentof 1D heat flow is presented, whose main results have been implemented in theclass Rod1D. All planar sandwich classes are derived from the parent classRod1D.
