It is shown, using results of measurements of ion saturation current in theplasma edges of different magnetic fusion confinement devices (tokamaks andstellarators), that the plasma dynamics in the edges is dominated bydistributed chaos with spontaneously broken translational symmetry at lowmagnetic field, and with spontaneously broken reflexional symmetry (by helicalsolitons) at high magnetic field.
