Small wind projects encounter difficulties to be efficiently deployed, partlybecause wrong way data and information are managed. Ontologies can overcome thedrawbacks of partially available, noisy, inconsistent, and heterogeneous datasources, by providing a semantic middleware between low level data and moregeneral knowledge. In this paper, we engineer an ontology for the wind energydomain using description logic as technical instrumentation. We aim tointegrate corpus of heterogeneous knowledge, both digital and human, in orderto help the interested user to speed-up the initialization of a small-scalewind project. We exemplify one use case scenario of our ontology, that consistsof automatically checking whether a planned wind project is compliant or notwith the active regulations.
