Electronic Coulomb excitations in monolayer silicene are investigated byusing the Lindhard dielectric function and a newly developed generalizedtight-binding model (G-TBM). G-TBM simultaneously contains the atomicinteractions, the spin-orbit coupling, the Coulomb interactions, and thevarious external fields at an arbitrary chemical potential. We exhibit thecalculation results of the electrically tunable magnetoplasmons and the strongmagnetic field modulation of plasmon behaviors. The two intriguing phenomenaare well explained by determining the dominant transition channels in thedielectric function and through understanding the electron behavior under themultiple interactions (intrinsic and external). A further tunability of theplasmon features is demonstrated with the momentum transfer and the Fermienergy. The methodological strategy could be extended to several other 2Dmaterials like germanene and stanene, and might open a pathway to search abetter system in nanoplasmonic applications.
