The reconstruction efficiency of photons and neutral pions is measured usingthe relative yields of reconstructed $B^+ \to J/\psi K^{*+} (\to K^+ \pi^{0})$and $B^+ \to J/\psi K^{+}$ decays. The efficiency is studied using the dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$,collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at thecentre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV.
