The FORS2 instrument is one of the most widely used and productiveinstruments on the Very Large Telescope. This article reports on a project toimprove the quality of the reduced FORS2 spectra that can be produced with thesoftware provided by ESO. The result of this effort is that spectra ofsignificantly higher quality can now be produced with substantially lowereffort by the science user of the data.
