We present a new few-parameter phenomenological model of light curves ofeclipsing binaries and stars with transiting planets that is able to fit theobserved light curves with the accuracy better than 1\% of their amplitudes.The model can be used namely for appropriate descriptions of light curveshapes, classification, mid-eclipse time determination, and fine periodanalyses.
