Classical emulation of a ubiquitous quantum mechanical phenomenon ofdouble-continuum Fano (DCF) interference using metasurfaces is experimentallyrealized by engineering the near-field interaction between two bright and onedark plasmonic modes. The competition between the bright modes, with one ofthem effectively suppressing the Fano interference for the orthogonal lightpolarization, is discovered and explained by the analytic theory of theplasmonic DCF interference, which is further applied to predicting thecircularly dichroic optical field concentration by plasmonic metasurfaces.
