This manuscript is devoted to study the combined effect of a viable model,f(R) = R + \alpha R^n, and electromagnetic field on the instability range ofgravitational collapse. We assume charged anisotropic fluid that dissipateenergy via heat flow and discuss that electromagnetic field, densityinhomogeneity, shear and phase transition on astrophysical bodies can beincorporated by locally anisotropic background. Dynamical equations help toinvestigate the evolution of self-gravitating objects and leads to theconclusion that adiabatic index depend upon the electromagnetic background,mass and radius of the spherical objects.
