In this paper, a new class of optical fibers is studied, i.e. microstructuredfibers or photonic crystal fibers (PCF). The main objective is to characterizethese fibers using different dispersion diagrams and present an interface thatenables calculation of various transverse indexes. The choice of these profileswas guided by a simplification achievement. Furthermore, in order to acquireexpertise in air-silica microstructured fibers, a behavior modeling of theseparticular structures is proposed in this paper in order to present ananalytical method based on empirical equations. The fibers treated in thispaper have a triangular arrangement of holes corresponding to the naturalarrangement of a bundle of cylindrical tubes around a central rod of the samediameter.
