LOPES 3D is able to measure all three components of the electric field vectorof the radio emission from air showers. This allows a better comparison withemission models. The measurement of the vertical component increases thesensitivity to inclined showers. By measuring all three components of theelectric field vector LOPES 3D demonstrates by how much the reconstructionaccuracy of primary cosmic ray parameters increases. Thus LOPES 3D evaluatesthe usefulness of vectorial measurements for large scale applications.
