Behavior of systems that are functions of anticipated behavior of othersystems, whose own behavior is also anticipatory but homeostatic and determinedby hierarchical ordering, which changes over time, of sets of possibleenvironments that are not co-possible, is proven to be highly non-linear andsensitively dependent on precise parameters. Averages and other kinds ofaggregates cannot be calculated for sets of measurements of behavior ofsystems, defined in this essay, that are "index complex" in this way. Thisincludes many systems, for instance, social behavior, where anticipation ofbehavior of other individuals plays a central role. Anticipation of preferencesof economic actors are discussed in this way. Analysis by way of generalizedfunctions of complex variables is done for these kinds of systems, andequations of change of state are formally described. Behavior that comprises ofresponses to market interest rates is taken for example. Continuity assumptionsin economics analyzed in this context. Anticipatory responses to inflation ineconomics are discussed. Applications to theory of production are presented.
