I point out how coherence vortices, i.e., topological defects in acorrelation function, could help explore new physics if they are created inmatter waves. Vortex dynamics could be studied in up to six dimensions, andspin topological defects unseen in lower dimensions could be created. Arudimentary proof-of-principle experiment is sketched and simulated, in whichthree Bose-Einstein condensates are used to create and detect coherencevortices.
