In view of the implementation of beam-monitoring sensors for CERN's LargeHadron Collider (LHC), and also in order to validate ThermoluminescenceDetectors as a versatile tool to measure ionizing radiation doses in mixedfields at hadron colliders such as the LHC, chemical vapor deposition diamondsensors have been evaluated and calibrated at CERN's Proton Synchrotronaccelerator. Special attention was paid to understanding whetherlithiumfluoride thermoluminescence detectors are suitable as measuring devicesin these radiation fields.
