A filtration system widely receives attention because of its excellent total suspended solid (TSS) removal efficiency. However, clogging leads to increasing head loss in a filtration system. Herein, we investigated the TSS removal efficiency of a fiber filter based on the filtration method and TSS properties to determine the performance of the filter in a lab-scale experiment. Furthermore, we found the TSS removal efficiency, head loss of the filter media, and recovery ratio of the head loss after backwashing in a pilot-scale experiment. The TSS removal efficiency was 60-80% in the lab-scale test and higher than 80% in the pilot-scale test, which met the designated standard. In addition, the low head loss (< 20 mm) and high recovery ratio of the head loss (100%) showed the excellent performance of the filtration system.
