Tan-cot method is applied to get exact soliton solutions of non-linear partial differential equations notably generalized Benjamin-Bona-Mahony, Zakharov-Kuznetsov Benjamin-Bona-Mahony, Kadomtsov- Petviashvilli Benjamin-Bona-Mahony and Korteweg-de Vries equations, which are important evolution equations with wide variety of physical applications.
