In this paper new aspects concerning the current in the photoelectric effect are presented. By using the inverted form of the new intensity formula in optical emission spectroscopy, an explanation of many experimental current versus frequency observations are given. The ionization energy of many different elements has also shown to be important in the photo- electric effect in connection with this intensity formula. This paper also shows some ways to increase the current from a solar cell by structuring the surface of the solar cell. Some physical effects which are dominant in accordance to this structuring, are discussed.
