This paper analyzes the contribution of Mustafa Lutfi al-Manfaluti to Arabic short story. AlManfaluti was a distinguished Arabic litterateur of the early 20 century. He had a far greater influence of his day than writers on the subject have given him credit for. An attempt has been made in this paper to deal with his work “Al-Abarat”.
