物質中に音波 を伝搬 させ た ときの音速や減衰 はその物 質の弾性 および構造の有力 な情報源 とな り, 物性分野 で 盛 んに用いられ てい る. 一方, 最近の新材料や新機能素 子 の開発 に伴って単に物性分野だ けでな く, これ らの特 性評価や機能評価 にも用 い られ るようになってい る. さ らに, これ らの小型化, 高機能化の傾 向に伴 って微小 な 領域あるいは微少量の測定 を行 う, 超音波マ イクロスペ ク トロスコピー1)が発展 しつつあ り, これによ り特性 お よび機能評価 の手段 として も用い られるようになってい る. 筆者 らは, すでに このための, 測定法 として相関法 を 用いた微少量の液体 の音速お よび減衰 の測定法について 報告 してい る2). この方法はU・VHF帯 周波数 において 0.1~0.3cc程 度 の試料量 で測定 が可能 であるが低周波 では数cc程 度 の試料が必要 とな る3). 本論文で は, MHz帯 周波数の超音波 を用い た微少量 の液体 についての新 しい音速測定法について述べたもの である. 以下 にその方法, システムについて述べ, つづ いて, 標準液体試料 として水 を用いた測定例 を示 し本測 定法の有効性 を明 らかにす る.
