The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence from tinring of uttcrance ancl body mot,ion in dialpgue between human arrd robot. \\'e controlled pause duration and nod response timing in robot-side, arrd analyzed impression of communication in human-side by using Scheffe's Paired Comparison method. The results revealed that the irnpression of cornmunication significantly modified by changing the pause cluration an<l nocl response tirning. And, timing pattern of the impression altered diversely in elderly people than in younger, ildicating that eklerly gerreration uses va,rious timing control niechanisms. Frorn these results. it was suggested tli;rr tirnirr,4 control and impression of com.munication are mutually influenced, and this rriechanisrn is thought to bt usefrrl rt, realize human-robot communication system for elderly generation.
